Polish advice urges stronger email and phone security

Guidance published in Poland recommends businesses and individuals improve email protection by configuring modern mail systems that automatically detect suspicious messages, block dangerous attachments and employ two‑factor authentication. Users are urged to use long, unique passwords or passphrases, consider password managers, and install security updates promptly to close known vulnerabilities.

For mobile devices, the advice stresses enabling a robust screen lock (PIN, password, fingerprint or facial recognition), hiding notification content on the lock screen, and activating built‑in location services that allow owners to locate, ring, lock or remotely erase a lost phone. Regular backups of contacts, photos and documents, as well as recording the device’s IMEI number, are also recommended. Quick action—such as calling the missing device, using a tracking app, and reporting the incident to police and the carrier—can limit data exposure.
