Record‑high temperatures across Poland have damaged fruit and vegetable plantations, with growers reporting that crops such as currants were “boiled” on the bushes and many fruits failed quality standards. Agriculture Minister Stefan Krajewski held an online meeting with the country’s voivodes to develop uniform procedures for estimating these losses. The minister said existing damage‑assessment commissions will handle the evaluations, using data from the Institute of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science to map the hottest regions and verify farmer reports. No new commissions will be created; instead, the focus is on consistent documentation and speedy compensation guidance for affected producers.

Krajewski emphasized that the scale of the losses makes it impossible to predict market price impacts at this stage, but a coordinated approach is intended to help growers file claims and receive aid under the same rules nationwide.
