Polish airports expand capacity and report rising passenger numbers

Kraków Airport has commenced construction of the T6 terminal to accommodate growing passenger numbers. The expansion will add nearly 45,000 square meters of space, including 11 new gates, three communication towers, 54 passport control stations, and 20 automated gates. The project, valued at over 530 million PLN net, aims to increase the airport's capacity to 20 million passengers annually by 2032. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed by mid-2029.

Meanwhile, Warsaw Modlin Airport reported significant growth in passenger traffic. In September, the airport handled 390,722 passengers, representing a 168.5 percent increase compared to the same month the previous year. Since the beginning of the year, the airport has served over 3.1 million travelers, a 78 percent increase over the same period in the prior year.
