Polish athletes achieve record-breaking success in swimming and archery

At the European Para Swimming Championships in Kocaeli, Turkey, Oliwia Jabłońska secured her third gold medal. In the S9 class 400m freestyle, she set a new European record with a time of 4:36.41, finishing nearly 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up, Croatia’s Emma Mečić.

Polish athletes Jacek Czech and Krzysztof Lechniak also earned medals, taking silver and bronze respectively in the S2 200m freestyle event. Jabłońska noted the significance of her victory, as it occurred on the same date as her 2019 world championship win.

In Poland, archer Karina Kozłowska achieved a historic feat at the Polish Archery Championships in Białystok. Representing LKS Łucznik Żywiec, Kozłowska won seven gold medals across individual distances (30, 50, 60, and 70 meters), team, and mixed competitions. This marks the first time in the history of Polish competitive archery that a single athlete has achieved a full sweep of seven gold medals at the national championships.
