Polish athletes compete in European university and boxing championships

Polish student-athletes are competing in various European championships. In Tirana, a delegation of over 70 students from 24 Polish universities is participating in the European University Games. In the karate competition, Aleksander Opas from Poznań University of Technology secured a bronze medal in the Kumite -60 kg category. Additionally, the Poznań team, including Wojciech Niedziela, Oskar Prusinowski, and Jakub Borczyk, won a silver medal in the men's kata team tournament.

Meanwhile, the Polish national boxing team has arrived in Sofia for the European Boxing Championships. The 19-member squad includes athletes such as Julia Szeremeta, Aneta Rygielska, Agata Kaczmarska, and Damian Durkacz. Coach Tomasz Dylak noted that the competition will be particularly challenging due to the return of Russian boxers to international competition, describing Russia as a boxing powerhouse. Dylak expressed a goal of securing at least four medals for the team.
