Polish authorities arrest 23-year-old for planning attacks on politicians

Polish authorities have arrested a 23-year-old man, identified as Mikołaj T. from Tomaszów Lubelski, for allegedly planning a coordinated terrorist attack against leading Polish politicians. The investigation began after officers from the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime (CBZC) discovered suspicious posts on a Telegram group titled 'Broń palna Polska' (Firearms Poland). In these posts, the suspect reportedly called for the 'elimination' of several individuals who he claimed were terrorizing the country through a political duopoly.

The suspect faces severe legal charges, including preparing for genocide, crimes against peace, humanity, and war crimes, as well as public incitement to commit a crime. Following his arrest, police conducted a search of his property using a Border Guard detection dog to look for weapons and explosives, though nothing was found.

A court in Kraków has ordered 30 days of temporary detention. The suspect faces a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years. During questioning, the individual reportedly claimed he acted out of 'stupidity'.
