Poland emergency services conduct large-scale safety drills

Emergency services and local authorities across various regions in Poland have conducted extensive training exercises to enhance crisis response capabilities.

In the Silesian Voivodeship, the ‘Wind Strike 26’ exercises involved hundreds of rescuers, police officers, and medical teams. The drills simulated responses to severe weather events, including storms, building damage, and fires in historical sites. Similarly, Katowice Airport hosted ‘Akcja SAMOLOT,’ a biennial large-scale simulation involving 350 participants to test airport emergency protocols.

Other regional exercises included forest fire response drills in the Lublin area and waste landfill fire simulations in Elbląg. In the Bieszczady mountains, specialized counter-terrorism units practiced high-altitude and aerial coordination using a Black Hawk helicopter.

Parallel to these tactical drills, various agencies conducted preventive community outreach. These included safety training for students and families regarding digital threats, domestic violence, and emergency communication, as well as road safety inspections and transport compliance checks near Modlin Airport.
