Poland police officer arrested for suspected residential burglaries

A 43-year-old police officer from the Boguchwała station, with 13 years of service, has been placed in temporary detention for three months following allegations of multiple residential burglaries. The Rzeszów District Prosecutor's Office has charged the suspect with burglary and attempted burglary involving three single-family homes in the Lubenia and Boguchwała municipalities.

Investigators allege that the officer used his position as a local community officer to gather intelligence on residents, including monitoring security cameras and determining when families would be away at social events. In one instance, the suspect allegedly broke into a home, stealing over 62,700 PLN, 1,010 EUR, 40 USD, a PlayStation 4, and various jewelry items. In another incident, a camera and power tools were stolen.

During a search of the officer's residence, authorities seized approximately 65,000 PLN in cash, jewelry, watches, and electronic equipment, some of which were identified as items taken during the reported burglaries. The suspect has denied the charges and refused to provide explanations.
