Polish authorities hold conferences on human trafficking and addiction support
In Gniezno, a multidisciplinary conference titled ‘Human Trafficking – A Multidisciplinary Phenomenon. On the Cooperation of Services’ was held on October 22. The event brought together representatives from the Police, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations, including the International Organization for Migration and the La Strada Foundation. The meeting focused on exchanging knowledge and best practices to combat human trafficking, noting that Poland has recently become a transit country for various trafficking routes.
In Rybnik, a separate conference addressed addiction within the post-penitentiary assistance system. Organized by police and the District Court in Rybnik, the session targeted court probation officers, uniformed services, and addiction therapy institutions. Experts discussed preventive tools and therapeutic approaches for individuals transitioning from the penal system to society.
