Polish police intensify search for missing 76‑year‑old Janusz Szczęsny in Lubusz

Intensive efforts are under way in the Lubusz region to locate 76‑year‑old Janusz Szczęsny, who disappeared on the evening of 27 July near the village of Bronków. The man, who has coordination difficulties, was last seen around 18:00 wearing a gray jacket, khaki cargo pants and black trekking boots, and may be carrying a black backpack.

The search involves dozens of responders, including officers from the Krosno Odrzańskie Police Station, the provincial police command in Wrocław and Gorzów Wielkopolski, firefighters, and the Specialized Search and Rescue Service from Świebodzin. Resources deployed include tracking dogs, drones, a helicopter, quad bikes and a mobile command centre. Police have urged residents to report any information, emphasizing that even seemingly minor tips could be crucial.
