Garwolin hospital officials detained for 730,000 PLN fraud
In Garwolin, seven individuals, including hospital board members and doctors, have been detained on suspicion of causing significant financial damage to the Mazowiecki Hospital. The investigation, overseen by the District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce, alleges that the group engaged in mismanagement and fraud, resulting in losses of approximately 730,000 PLN. This includes 620,000 PLN in salaries paid for medical services that were never actually provided.
Other recent criminal activities in Poland include a cybercrime incident in Wałbrzych, where a 70-year-old man lost 1,200 PLN to a fraudulent online pellet shop. Law enforcement has also reported various incidents involving narcotics, drunk driving, and physical assaults across several regions, including Elbląg, Bytom, and Tarnobrzeg.
