Polish banks implement new digital security and identity tools
Polish financial institutions are implementing new digital security and identity verification technologies. VeloBank has announced that over one million of its customers have consented to behavioral verification through the Biuro Informacji Kredytowej (BIK). This system analyzes user patterns, such as typing speed, mouse movements, and phone handling, to detect unauthorized account access even when a fraudster possesses correct login credentials.
PKO Bank Polski has introduced a new digital process allowing users to set up electronic banking without a full account by using the e-Dowód (electronic ID). This fully digital process is available via the bank's mobile application and offers alternative identity verification methods, including the mObywatel app and selfie recognition, to enhance user convenience and reduce the need for in-person branch visits.
