Polish banks push AI-driven credit scoring and hyper‑personalised services

Research on machine learning and neuro‑economics is reshaping credit risk assessment in Poland, enabling more precise and fair decisions by analysing behavioural and transactional data. Experts note that AI models can detect subtle patterns that traditional scoring misses, improving loan verification speed and reducing default risk while raising privacy and ethical concerns.

At the European Financial Congress 2026 in Sopot, senior executives from Accenture, Bank Pekao, PKO Bank Polski, BNP Paribas Bank Polska and Bank Millennium discussed the future of AI in retail banking. They described a vision of a “Bank of one”, where each client is treated as a distinct segment through massive, individually tailored offers managed by cloud‑based machine‑learning models. While such large‑scale personalization is technically feasible, no Polish bank has yet deployed a full system. The panel also warned against overly configurable user interfaces, citing low adoption of similar features in past services.
