Polish basketball player Kamil Łączyński targeted by fan abuse

During a PGE Basket Liga match between Energa Czarni Słupsk and AMW Arka Gdynia, Polish national team representative Kamil Łączyński was subjected to verbal abuse from fans in Słupsk. The 37-year-old playmaker reported hearing profanities and personal insults, including wishes that his child fall ill.

Łączyński addressed the incident on social media, noting that his attempt to point out that children were listening to the insults resulted in a reprimand from a referee. He called for better education regarding hate speech, suggesting that such aggression can lead to tragedy for those who are mentally vulnerable.
