Polish berry harvest prices rise for blackberries and red currants

During the early weeks of the berry season in Poland, collectors of blackberries (czarne jagody) report that local buying points are offering about 15 zł per kilogram, with prices expected to fluctuate as the supply increases. Collectors are reminded to follow forest regulations, avoid prohibited tools, and take safety precautions against ticks and weather.

Red currants (czerwona porzeczka) are also entering the market. Wholesale prices range from 15 zł to 25 zł per kilogram on the Bronisz market, while the Poznań agricultural exchange lists 10–12 zł for 0.5 kg. Direct‑from‑farmer sales vary between 6 zł and 18 zł per kilogram. Regional buying points in Lublin pay 4–4.5 zł per kilogram for boxed fruit. Prices differ across cities such as Kalisz (10 zł/kg) and Brodnica (7 zł/kg). Both berries are highlighted for their vitamin C and antioxidant content, and the season’s length depends on weather conditions.
