Polish Border Guard expands personnel and international presence

The Bieszczady Border Guard Unit (BiOSG) has reached a record staffing level, currently employing over 2,700 personnel. Recently, 17 new officers, consisting of 15 men and two women, took their oaths of office. All new recruits are residents of the Podkarpacie region. Following their swearing-in, these officers will undergo basic and non-commissioned officer training at the Higher School of the Border Guard in Koszalin before returning to serve in the Bieszczady unit.

Separately, the Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit has deployed 25 officers to support European borders across nine countries, including Slovakia, Greece, Latvia, France, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, and Croatia. These officers work alongside host nation services to protect the external borders of the European Union and the Schengen Area. Their duties include land and maritime patrols, as well as specialized tasks such as detecting forged documents at airports, seaports, and road crossings.
