Polish Border Guards Seize Stolen Vehicles
Polish Border Guard officers have intercepted several stolen vehicles during recent operations at various border crossings.
In Świecko, on the A2 highway, officers stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 47-year-old Ukrainian national. Although the driver presented German registration documents, the numbers did not match the vehicle, and an unoriginal key was discovered. German authorities confirmed the vehicle had been stolen several days prior in Germany. The Jeep is valued at approximately 80,000 PLN.
In the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, two additional luxury vehicles were seized. At the Grzechotki crossing, a 22-year-old Polish citizen of Belarusian nationality was caught driving a Toyota valued at 70,000 PLN, which was identified as stolen from Germany.
At the Bezledy crossing, a Lithuanian citizen was stopped while driving a Toyota valued at approximately 350,000 PLN. Investigations revealed the vehicle had a tampered VIN, forged Norwegian license plates, a fake registration document, and an unoriginal key. The vehicle had previously been listed for auction in Norway. The total value of the vehicles seized in these recent operations is estimated at 420,000 PLN.
