Polish car theft gang dismantled after major German-Polish police operation

Nine members of a Polish car theft gang have been arrested following a joint operation by 120 Polish and 60 Saxon law enforcement officers. The group is accused of stealing high-end vehicles across Germany between 2017 and 2025, transporting them to Poland, and dismantling them for parts.

According to the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office and the Saxony State Criminal Police Office, the total damage is estimated to exceed three million euros. The stolen vehicles primarily included luxury brands such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes, and Porsche. During searches in locations including Wroclaw, Lubin, and Zgorzelec, authorities seized various parts from approximately 75 vehicles.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 54, are currently in extradition custody in Poland and face trial in Saxony. The investigation linked the thefts to 53 different German cities.
