Polish Catholic Weekly Liturgical Commentaries for July 2026
Three Catholic parishes in Poland published weekly commentaries on the Scriptures read during the liturgy.
Fr. Jarosław Kwiatkowski, of the Bractwo Słowa Bożego, reflected on the 19‑25 July 2026 readings (Wisdom 12‑13, Romans 8:26‑27). He emphasized God’s mercy toward the "Chosen People" and warned against the sins of ancient Canaanite inhabitants.
The parish of St. Wawrzyńca in Gliniance presented the 18 July 2026 lectionary (Micah 2:1‑5, Psalm 10, Matthew 12:14‑21). The commentary highlighted Micah’s warning of divine punishment for oppression and linked it to Pope Francis’ call for compassion toward the poor.
St. Anna’s parish in Oporów offered a June 7 2026 reflection on Jesus’ healing miracles and the conditions for being his disciples (Matthew 8‑9). The analysis stressed that true mercy lies in following Christ rather than merely receiving physical healing.
