Polish celebrities discuss atheism and departure from religious communities
Several Polish public figures have shared their personal views regarding religion and their departure from traditional religious practices.
Actress Julia Wróblewska has stated that she identifies as an atheist and does not participate in religious ceremonies during holidays such as Christmas or Easter. She prefers to spend these times with family through shared meals rather than attending church or engaging in prayer. Similarly, actress Zofia Zborowska noted that while she maintains social traditions like Easter breakfast out of respect for believing family members, she and her husband do not identify as believers and do not participate in church services.
Musician Natalia Niemen also spoke about her decision to distance herself from religious communities. After previously being a fervent Catholic and later a Protestant fundamentalist within the Baptist community, Niemen has since left the church. She criticized religious communities for what she described as a discrepancy between their modern image and a reality she characterized as patriarchal and misogynistic.
