Polish cemeteries implement digital tools for grave searches

Various regions in Poland are utilizing digital tools to assist families in locating graves ahead of All Saints' Day. In Gdańsk, an online search engine covers nine municipal cemeteries, providing location data including cemetery name, quarter, row, and specific plot for burials dating back to 1945.

In Jodłowa, the local parish has issued an appeal regarding over 150 graves that lack registered caretakers. The parish warns that under cemetery regulations, earth graves may be reused after 20 years unless a reservation is filed and the required fee is paid. To prevent unintended reuse, families are encouraged to verify the status of burial sites through the parish's online search tool or by contacting the cemetery administration directly.
