Poland prepares for major military parade for Armed Forces Day
Poland is preparing for major celebrations of Polish Armed Forces Day on August 15, 2026, commemorating the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. The central festivities will be held in Warsaw under the theme "Polska SAFE — Bezpieczna Polska."
The upcoming events will feature a large-scale military parade on Warsaw's Wisłostrada, showcasing approximately 10,000 soldiers and advanced military technology, including Abrams, Leopard, and K2 tanks, as well as HIMARS systems and Krab howitzers. The aerial component will include flights of F-35 "Husarz" and F-16 fighter jets, along with Black Hawk helicopters.
Preparatory trials have already commenced, involving both land and air components. These trials included night-time movement of heavy equipment and aerial formations over the Wisła river. Additionally, a naval parade is scheduled to take place in the Gulf of Gdańsk. These preparations are expected to cause significant traffic disruptions and temporary road closures in Warsaw, particularly along the Wisłostrada.
