Polish cities consider expanding paid parking zones

Local authorities in Bydgoszcz and Radom are evaluating the expansion of paid parking zones to address urban congestion and parking availability.

In Bydgoszcz, the Leśne district has launched public consultations regarding the organization of parking and the potential introduction of a Paid Parking Zone. The initiative, driven by the Leśne District Council, aims to address issues caused by high traffic from nearby hospitals, military units, and sports facilities. Residents can submit their opinions until November 27 to help determine if new regulations are necessary to ensure parking availability for locals.

In Radom, the city is reviewing the results of consultations held between August 21 and September 9, 2026, regarding the expansion of the Unwatched Paid Parking Zone (SPPN) into areas such as the XV-lecia and Plant neighborhoods. While a final decision rests with the City Council, local officials have confirmed that no immediate changes have been implemented. The process follows concerns from residents and local businesses regarding additional costs and the necessity of the expansion.
