Polish Cities Host Free Outdoor Theatre Festivals This Summer

The 19th International Street Artists Festival “Ulicznicy” transformed Gliwice’s Park Chopina and the city market into stages for free performances. Children and adults enjoyed shows such as the Gracholka Theatre’s “Krętym szlakiem za Ślimakiem”, the traveling troupe Muzikanty’s “Imaginarius”, and interactive Swiss production “Kismet”. The festival will continue with additional weekend events and free ticket giveaways throughout July.

In Warsaw’s Wawer district, an open‑air stage on Romantyczna Street along the Vistula hosts a weekly family‑friendly programme of fairy‑tale plays every Saturday until the end of August. Free admission, supported by the district, includes productions like “Czerwony Kapturek”, “Nowe Szaty Króla”, and “Baba Dżaga”. The “Bajkowy Wawer” project aims to strengthen intergenerational ties and provide accessible cultural entertainment in a natural setting.
