Polish cities implement new senior and mental health support programs

Municipalities in Poland are implementing various social and health initiatives to support vulnerable populations. In Piła, the Municipal Social Welfare Center is executing the ‘Jesteśmy aktywni’ project, running from March 2026 to June 2028. The program aims to improve access to social and health services for 120 seniors with disabilities or limited independence. Key services include personal assistance, psychological counseling, and occupational therapy for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s. The project also features modernized Day Care Homes equipped with VR goggles and interactive floors.

In Lublin, local authorities are focusing on mental health awareness and support. Initiatives include educational programs in secondary schools addressing stress and depression, as well as workshops for various age groups to build psychological resilience. The city provides access to the Crisis Intervention Center, which offers a 24-hour helpline to assist residents in psychological distress.
