Polish cities launch major tram and boulevard upgrades

In Warsaw, work on the tram tracks along Al. Niepodległości near Filtrowa Street begins in mid‑June. The city’s tram operator and Veolia are synchronising the reconstruction of approximately 380 m of track with the renovation of a large heating‑network chamber. Two tram stops (GUS and Biblioteka Narodowa) will be closed, and services will be diverted via nearby streets. Track work is scheduled to finish by the end of June, after which Veolia will continue work on the heating chamber until mid‑August.

In Płock, the municipal hall started modernising the second segment of the Vistula river boulevards on 15 June. The works, extending from Mostowa Street to the premises of the Płock Rowing Society, will add a new pedestrian promenade, bike path, lighting, benches, a viewing platform and upgraded drainage. The project also includes new parking spaces and a 100‑metre illuminated walkway to the zoo. Traffic on streets such as Mostowa, Rybaki and Kawieckiego will be partially restricted until the end of June 2027, with drivers asked to exercise extra caution.

Both projects aim to improve urban mobility and public spaces while causing temporary traffic disruptions for residents and visitors.
