Polish cities roll out mobile and online services to aid residents with government paperwork

The Łódź city hall has introduced a "Mobile Officer" program that brings municipal staff to the homes of elderly, disabled or otherwise mobility‑restricted residents. Callers can arrange visits for tasks such as issuing the Łódź Barrier‑Free Card, applying for a parking permit, or obtaining information on disability programmes. City spokeswoman Katarzyna Tręda‑Pisera said, “Our help is directed especially to people with limited mobility that prevents them from visiting the office themselves.”

Meanwhile, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) is promoting the reservation of appointments at its branches through the e‑ZUS platform, telephone, or onsite request. The service lets clients secure a specific time slot, reducing queue wait times. ZUS regional press officer Krystyna Michałek explained that while appointments are optional, “earlier reservation allows you to arrive at a precise hour and avoid unnecessary waiting.” The initiative is available in multiple ZUS offices across the Kuyavian‑Pomeranian region.
