Polish cities utilize murals to celebrate local culture and urban spaces

Local communities in Poland are utilizing street art to celebrate regional heritage and urban spaces. In Włodawa, a new 165-square-meter mural titled ‘Polesia Czar’ has been unveiled on Przechodnia Street. The artwork, which depicts a couple in traditional local attire against a landscape of cranes and Polesie nature, was funded by the Stowarzyszenie Polesie Włodawskie, Wipasz SA, and the Lubelskie Voivodeship with a total cost of 25,000 PLN.

In Wrocław, an upcoming community event on October 16, 2026, will feature a guided walk through the ‘Kolorowe Podwórka’ (Colorful Courtyards) in the Nadodrze district. Led by artist Anastasiia Vanarkha, the tour will showcase over 3 km² of murals, ceramic reliefs, and sculptures created by residents and artists. The event includes workshops for children aged 5-10 to create their own street art.
