Polish clubs lock in key players as PSŻ Poznań extends contracts and Pogoń Szczecin signs defender

Speedway club PSŻ Poznań announced the extension of contracts for two of its leading riders, Bartosz Smektała and Dimitri Bergé, securing them for the 2027 season. Smektała, a former junior world champion and team captain, has been a top scorer for the team, while Bergé, a French rider, ranks as the second‑highest point‑getter in the Metalkas 2 Ekstraliga.

Football side Pogoń Szczecin confirmed the signing of 23‑year‑old Belgian defender Lukas Willen on a free transfer after his contract with Zulte Waregem expired. Willen, who has represented Belgium at U‑15, U‑17 and U‑20 levels, signed a contract running until the end of the 2028/29 season and will wear the number 29 jersey. The club expects him to strengthen the defensive line ahead of upcoming matches, including a clash with Cracovia.
