Polish clubs Śląsk Wrocław and Widzew Łódź announce new leadership and player departures
Śląsk Wrocław basketball club named Michał Mazur as its new president, replacing Karolina Pokorska who left for a role in the science and business sector. Mazur brings more than 15 years of sports‑business management experience, previously serving as a managing director in the Polish Basketball League. The club also appointed Jędrzej Rybak as head of communications and is assembling its roster for the 2026/27 season, adding coach Danny Franco, assistant Jakub Pendrakowski and players Anthony Wrzeszcz and Malik Parsons.
Widzew Łódź football club confirmed the loan of Croatian midfielder Tonio Teklic to Turkish side Mardin 1969 until the end of the season. Teklic, who made only nine appearances and one start for Widzew, was deemed surplus to requirements after a brief, unproductive spell. The move follows earlier departures, including the loan of Osman Bukari to Crvena Zvezda after a costly, under‑performing transfer.
