Polish clubs prepare for major European sports matchups

Polish sports clubs are preparing for key European matchups in handball and basketball.

In handball, Industria Kielce is set to face SC Magdeburg, a favorite for the Champions League title, in a Group F match at Hala Legionów. Industria Kielce coach Krzysztof Lijewski emphasized the need for intense focus and defensive discipline to compete with the German side. Both teams currently lead their group with two wins each.

In basketball, Legia Warszawa enters the FIBA Champions League Group B, facing SIG Strasbourg in an away game. The group also includes Galatasaray and Cibona. Analysts suggest the competition between Legia and Cibona may decide the advancement to the play-in phase. SIG Strasbourg, despite being a former French league quarterfinalist, has faced recent financial constraints and maintains a roster without major standout names beyond American player Jaylen Hands.
