Polish clubs Widzew Łódź and Polonia Warszawa pursue key midfield signings

Widzew Łódź captain Julian Shehu (27, Albanian international) has attracted interest from Bundesliga clubs and Turkish sides Kasımpaşa and Konyaspor. Konyaspor offered €2 million, which Widzew rejected; the club expects offers closer to his market value of €3.5 million and will not sell below that.

Polonia Warszawa is undergoing a medical examination of 27‑year‑old midfielder Sebastian Kowalczyk, who has been a free agent since early July. Kowalczyk previously played for Houston Dynamo in the United States and spent most of his career in Poland’s Ekstraklasa with teams such as Pogoń Szczecin and Zagłębie Lubin. If the medical clears, Polonia plans to sign him as they strengthen the squad for a promotion push.
