Polish Communities Host Local Sports and Firefighter Competitions

On 28 June 2026, the municipality of Niwiska held a municipal fire‑brigade sport competition at the primary school field. Nine volunteer fire‑brigade units and four youth fire‑brigade teams competed, with OSP Trześń taking first place, followed by OSP Hucina and OSP Niwiska. Awards were presented by local officials and fire‑service representatives.

In the town of Nowy Targ, the municipal indoor‑football games for boys were staged at the Gorce Sports Hall. Fourteen school teams participated. The primary school No 3 won the children’s (grades 4‑6) category, while primary school No 11 captured the youth (grades 7‑8) title. All teams received cups, diplomas and material prizes.

The Staszic Volleyball tournament in Tarnogórski County featured boys’ teams from secondary schools playing ten matches over two days, with I LO S. Sempołowska emerging as champions. The girls’ competition was won by the same school, and individual standout players such as Oliwia Nowak and Maja Burdzik were recognised. The event marked coach Dariusz Mroczek’s farewell after ten years.
