Polish Community Theaters Nygard Studio and Teatr Nie Teraz Launch New Local Productions

The Nygard Studio Foundation in Łódź, run by Joanna and Szymon Nygard, is expanding its community‑focused theatre programme. Offering workshops, exam preparation courses and innovative projects such as "Techno Relaxation," the studio provides theatrical training for children, adults, seniors and aspiring actors, with performances that showcase participants’ progress.

Meanwhile, the folk‑oriented troupe Teatr Nie Teraz is staging "Zaśpiewać Konopnicką" in the village of Laskowa at the Skansen on Jędrzejkówka. The musical, inspired by the poetry of Maria Konopnicka, incorporates traditional folk motifs and the heligonka, a small button‑type accordion, performed by a cast that includes Marcin Korbut, Justyna Chmielak‑Korbut and others. The production is part of a series of collaborations with the Maria Konopnicka Museum, aiming to revive folk‑song storytelling for contemporary audiences.
