Polish consumers face frequent discrepancies in retail pricing
A study by UCE Research for Shopfully Poland reveals that over 81% of Polish consumers noticed at least one discrepancy between a declared promotional price and the amount charged on their receipt within the last 12 months. One in four respondents reported that such errors occur frequently.
Discrepancies are particularly common during large shopping trips involving numerous items, time-limited promotions, or offers requiring loyalty applications. The complexity of modern retail promotions, such as 'buy one get one free' or multi-buy discounts, increases the likelihood of errors by both customers and store systems.
Official inspections support these findings. In 2025, the Trade Inspection checked 3,026 outlets and over 461,000 products, identifying irregularities among 1,462 entrepreneurs.
