Polish Council of Commercial Objects meets with Ministry of Development and Technology
Representatives from the Polish Council of Commercial Objects (PROH) met with the Ministry of Development and Technology to discuss challenges regarding the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
The discussions focused on energy classes for buildings, energy performance certificates for buildings and premises, and the implementation of regulations concerning electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
A key point of contention was the methodology for assigning energy classes. PROH argued for the creation of a separate category for commercial objects, such as shopping centers and parks. The council noted that these facilities have unique operational characteristics, including large common areas and tenant autonomy over installed systems, which may mean current assessment methods do not accurately reflect their true energy efficiency levels.
