Polish couple returns wallet containing over 7,000 PLN to police

A married couple in Pogwizdów, Poland, found a lost wallet containing documents and more than 7,000 PLN in cash on Wednesday, October 21. Rather than keeping the money, the couple immediately turned the item in to the Road Traffic Department of the District Police Headquarters in Cieszyn.

Police successfully identified the owner as an 81-year-old man, who was able to quickly recover both his cash and his identification documents. Local police praised the couple's integrity, noting that their decision prevented a potentially serious problem for the elderly owner.
