Polish court proceedings begin in cases involving deaths of teenager and 31-year-old
Witness testimonies have commenced in the trial regarding the death of 14-year-old Natalia from Andrychów. During the proceedings at the District Court in Wadowice, the girl's father testified about the events of November 28, 2023. He described a desperate search for his daughter after she called him stating she felt unwell and could not see clearly. The father testified that despite his repeated requests to the police in Andrychów to track her phone, procedures were delayed, and he spent approximately two hours at the station before the tragedy occurred.
In a separate legal development, the District Court in Sierpce has overturned a decision by the Płock District Prosecutor's Office to dismiss an investigation into the death of a 31-year-old man. The man died in September 2024 at a rectory in Drobin. While prosecutors previously concluded that no crime or failure to provide assistance had occurred, the court ruled that the investigation must continue. The proceedings will focus on potential charges of causing death by negligence and failure to provide assistance to a person in immediate danger of death or serious injury.
