Polish Court Rejects Grzegorz Braun's Request to Add His Name to Party
The Warsaw District Court denied European Parliament member Grzegorz Braun's application to rename his party, Konfederacja Korony Polskiej, to include his surname. Braun argued that the added name recognition could raise the party's vote share by about half a percentage point, potentially influencing parliamentary seat allocation.
The court refused the registration change without providing a public justification. The dispute also highlights ongoing voter confusion between Braun's smaller party and the larger Konfederacja Wolność i Niepodległość, underscoring the strategic importance of party names on Polish election ballots.
