Polish credit market faces monopoly concerns, expert says

Financial expert Marek Tatała has highlighted issues within the Polish credit information market, describing it as a practical monopoly. Speaking at the Economic Forum in Karpacz, Tatała argued that current banking laws prevent competition, which limits innovation and consumer choice.

He noted that the dominance of a single entity in processing credit data prevents the entry of new firms. Tatała suggested that introducing competition, similar to the British model, could allow for the use of artificial intelligence and broader data sets to provide more precise credit scoring. Such changes could potentially lower risks for banks and improve credit terms for customers.
