Polish customs and police seize counterfeit clothing and illegal gambling machines
Polish customs officers from the National Tax Administration (KAS) seized about 2,750 pieces of clothing bearing counterfeit trademarks during a raid on a shopping hall near Łódź. If genuine, the goods would be worth over 4 million PLN. The 50‑year‑old owner faces criminal charges that could bring fines, restriction of liberty or up to two years in prison.
In a separate operation in Kłodzko County, police and customs agents dismantled an illegal gaming salon, confiscating three gambling machines valued at roughly 4,800 PLN, cash of 3,555 PLN and related documentation. The proprietor will be charged with operating unlicensed gambling equipment, facing fines up to 100,000 PLN per machine and possible imprisonment of up to three years.
