Polish Defence Group PGZ seeks role in European missile shield and submarine support

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) announced that it has invited domestic firms to consultations on how the group can contribute to the Integrated Anti‑Ballistic Missile Coalition, a European initiative launched in July by Denmark, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Italy, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Ukraine. Vice‑President Arkadiusz Bąk highlighted PGZ’s strengths in sensors and communications and said the coalition aims to boost Europe’s ability to defend against ballistic threats. The Polish consultation is scheduled for 13 August.

Separately, PGZ outlined plans to take part in the servicing of a Swedish‑leased A17 submarine, which will serve as a bridge to the future acquisition of three A26 submarines expected after 2030. Vice‑President Jan Grabowski said PGZ’s shipyards and the Centre for Marine Technology will be involved, aiming to develop the capability to maintain the A26 units from the first day they enter service, thereby reducing reliance on foreign contractors.
