Polish Defence Group PGZ Takes Stake in Jelcz, Expands Racibórz Production

On 5 March 2026 the Polish Group of Defence (PGZ) acquired a 28.5 % share in Jelcz from Huta Stalowa Wola, increasing Jelcz’s share capital by 11.553 million zł to a total of 40.536 million zł. The capital injection, sourced from the Investment Capital Fund, is earmarked for a new Jelcz factory and to raise annual chassis output for programmes such as Wisła, Narew, Pilica+ and Homar‑K.

In a related move, PGZ arranged the lease of former Rafako halls in Racibórz to Jelcz and the Rosomak vehicle producer. Jelcz will use the space to manufacture military vehicle chassis, targeting up to 700 units per year by the end of 2026, while Rosomak will produce armored‑transporter bodies. The facilities will also host an anti‑drone project run by the San consortium, a partnership of seven PGZ companies, aiming to boost Poland’s defence‑industrial capacity and create regional jobs.
