Polish discount stores Biedronka and Lidl spotlighted for low‑calorie meats and fruit‑infused herring
Personal trainer and YouTuber Mariusz Mróz analysed three ready‑made meat products sold at Biedronka, ranking them among the least recommended. His rankings were based on label information: classic salami (413 kcal and 4 g salt per 100 g), turkey ham “Pyszny Indyk” (53 % meat, 2.6 g salt per 100 g) and Tyrolean sausage (68 % meat, over 200 kcal and 16 g fat per 100 g).
Separately, an editorial feature highlighted a budget‑priced herring snack from Lidl’s Nautica brand. The 180 g pack contains Atlantic herring fillets, peach pieces, cranberries, onion, dill and a light oil‑vinegar dressing, costing about 6 zł. After draining, the ready‑to‑serve portion is 145 g. The product is promoted for its balance of salty fish with sweet fruit flavors.
