Polish doctors report multimillion‑zł earnings

Emergency‑room physician Robert Górski disclosed that he earned 4.3 million zł in a single year, saying he worked nonstop during the pandemic. Górski, a councilor in Zielona Góra, also listed extensive personal assets in a recent declaration.

Dariusz Gałecki, a 55‑year‑old hospital director and PiS county councilor, reported a 2025 income of more than 864 k zł, combining a 324 k zł director’s salary with earnings from medical duties. He claims to work up to 300 hours a month. Gałecki’s hospital recorded a loss of 5.2 million zł in the first quarter, prompting discussions of departmental cuts and salary adjustments for staff.

Both cases illustrate unusually high remuneration for Polish physicians, many of whom also hold political positions, and raise questions about the financial health of local hospitals.
