Polish driver dies after van trapped under truck on Italy's A4 near Portogruaro

A fatal road accident occurred on the A4 highway between Portogruaro and San Stino di Livenza in the Veneto region of Italy. A van with a Slovenian license plate, driven by a Polish national, became lodged under the trailer of a truck. Firefighters worked to free the driver, but he succumbed to his injuries despite medical assistance from emergency services.

The crash prompted Autostrade Alto Adriatico to close the affected stretch of the A4 and enforce a mandatory diversion at Portogruaro, directing traffic onto the A28. The incident caused significant congestion and delays for vehicles traveling toward Venice.
