Max Verstappen to debut in GT World Challenge at Portimão

Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen is set to make his debut in the GT World Challenge Europe this weekend at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal. Driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3 for Verstappen Racing, the Dutchman will compete in a three-hour endurance race alongside teammates Ben Barnicoat and Chris Lulham. This marks his first appearance in a GT3 car since the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

The event features a high-profile matchup between Verstappen and nine-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi, who will compete in a BMW M4 GT3 for Team WRT. The race brings together competitors holding a combined thirteen world titles.

The season finale features a large grid of 61 vehicles across various categories. While the championship title for the Endurance Cup has already been decided, the presence of major motorsport figures is expected to draw significant attention to the event.
