Poland's online shoppers turn to AI and split spending between Allegro, Temu and Vinted
Data from the whenUbuy platform shows Polish consumers’ average online basket value held at about 130 zł in May, with spending divided between major e‑commerce sites. Users buying on Allegro tend to purchase fewer items but at higher value, while Temu accounts for roughly half the total spend on Allegro. Repeating purchases now represent one in five orders, especially for supplements, pet food, household chemicals, coffee and groceries. Returns average 13 % of orders, with fashion items exceeding 26 %.
Vinted announced that all users must accept new payment terms or face account restrictions, underscoring the platform’s growing role in the second‑hand clothing market in Poland.
A joint UCE Research and Shopfully Poland survey found that 65.5 % of Poles use artificial intelligence while shopping, mainly for price comparison, finding the best offers and product inspiration. Regular AI use is reported by 12.2 % of respondents, with another 24.7 % using it occasionally. About 30 % do not use AI at all, citing lack of need or trust.
These trends illustrate a maturing Polish e‑commerce landscape where shoppers balance multiple platforms, embrace AI tools for decision‑making, and adapt to evolving payment policies.
