Polish economic report proposes radical cuts to social spending

A new report titled ‘Budżetowy SOS’, produced by the Forum Obywatelskiego Rozwoju and the Warsaw Enterprise Institute, warns of a looming economic crisis in Poland due to rising public debt and uncontrolled spending.

The document proposes radical fiscal measures to stabilize the budget within three years. Key recommendations include shifting from universal social programs to targeted assistance for those in need. Specifically, the report suggests introducing income criteria for the ‘800 plus’ program to exclude wealthier families. Other proposed measures include the elimination of the 13th and 14th pensions and an increase in the retirement age.
