KAS and Police dismantle illegal gambling ring in Poland

A large-scale, coordinated operation by the National Revenue Administration (KAS) and the Police has dismantled an organized criminal group involved in illegal gambling. The operation, coordinated by the Ministry of Finance's Department of Combating Economic Crime, targeted dozens of locations, primarily within the Łódź Voivodeship.

Authorities detained 58 individuals, ranging in age from 19 to 72. Among those detained, seven people are facing charges for participating in an organized criminal group and operating illegal slot machines, an offense that carries a potential sentence of up to eight years in prison. Four suspects have been placed under temporary arrest for two to three months, while three others are under police supervision. Additionally, two individuals were arrested for drug trafficking and possession, and a 19-year-old wanted under a warrant was also apprehended.

During the searches, law enforcement seized 287 illegal gambling machines, computer equipment, electronic data storage devices, narcotics, and over 598,000 PLN in cash.
